Creative Engagement Assistant
Rebecca has recently joined Gecko this year with a background predominantly in contemporary dance. After completing a placement with Gecko as the Assistant Stage Manager for the 2026 production of ‘The Wedding’, her passion for theatre production and community engagement evolved. She is passionate about bringing communities together and creating access for all to the creative arts.
Rebecca trained at the DanceEast Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) scheme before going on to study an undergraduate degree in Contemporary Dance with Trinity Laban Conservatoire. Here, she performed works by Kennedy Muntanga, Sonia Rafferty and Takeshi Matsumoto. Her third-year independent research project centred around the audience performance dynamic, which investigated how the different forms of performance impacted the relationship with its audience. This ignited the interest in creative engagement, in which she now supports the delivery of Gecko’s school workshops, residencies and community projects.
