Helen Baggett

Associate Director

Helen is an educator and movement-maker and founding member and Associate Director of Gecko Theatre, where she develops and leads many of the company’s residencies, workshops and community projects.

She was a founding member of Candoco Dance company and performed and taught with the company for 9 years . In 1999, she joined the Argentinian aerial company De La Guarda as performer and captain for their show at the Roundhouse ,Villa Villa . From 2000 -2004 , Helen was a performer ,choreographer and project leader for The Lost Child Project with the David Glass Ensemble- an international programme of participatory theatre projects for marginalised young people. From 2008 to 2024, Helen worked with the New Wolsey Theatre leading weekly Young Company and Youth Theatre workshops and creative Storymaking sessions for 3-6 year olds . 

Alongside her work with Gecko , she has directed, mentored and delivered physical theatre projects and training in many different contexts .

She is passionate about creating experiences in which people can connect with themselves and others with movement, breath, empathy and joy.
